Swapnamoy Chakraborty, born on August 24, 1951, is a Bengali novelist and essayist. He began his career in the Land Department of the Government of West Bengal and later worked as an executive director at Akashvani Kolkata. Chakraborty initially wrote short stories, with his debut published in Amrita magazine in 1972. His first book, "Bhumi Sutra," was released in 1982. "Abantinagar" earned him the Bankim Puraskar in 2005. Notably, his novel "Holde Golap," based on research about LGBT communities, received the Ananda Puraskar in 2012.
